He wanted to create an arena where he could use his creative ideas to be bold, stand out, and get things accomplished. He wanted to make trailers compelling, commercially viable and cogent. His team can also create your key art, as well as, supplement your marketing efforts.
Alexander Vickers – Owner and Creative Director
Alexander Vickers has been described by many as a “gifted visionary” or “creative genius”.
At 22 years old, Alexander had a dream. With no money and no connections, he created ZERO.POINT, a TV series concept. He wrote the scripts and musical scores, learned to make the visual effects, and created his first trailer by trial under fire.
This project fueled his desire to further his knowledge of editing, motion graphics and marketing. He has worked on numerous projects while at Powers of Three Productions, Lionsgate / Sobini Films, Gaiam / Awakened Media and The Visionering Group including What the Bleep Do We Know?, Peaceful Warrior, 11th Hour, and Francis Ford Coppola’s Youth Without Youth among many others.
In 2007 Alexander created Dreamscape Studios and has quickly created a name for his company as one of the fastest growing, forward thinking movie marketing companies in Los Angeles. Alexander is the creative director for Dreamscape Studios and is responsible for supervising the creation and production of feature film trailers including indies and documentaries. He is supported by a team of industry veterans from the realms of music, sound design and more.
For two years in a row he has served as a Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards judge which bestows awards for excellence in movie marketing and he has also been a sponsor of the American Film Market. In 2008, he created and produced a world music tribute to the humanitarian works of Quincy Jones for the benefit of Malaria No More and Millennium Promise. Vickers is a strong supporter of water-related charities and donates a percentage of revenues to them. He is currently at work on creating Jacob's Well, a foundation that will directly fund wells and cisterns being established in developing nations.
He is the founder and owner of Dark Matter Films, Inc., a DVD distribution company that produces and distributes DARK MATTER a monthly DVD series. Using Dreamscape Studios to launch the company, Vickers built it to a point where the series' monthly DVDs are now distributed around the world to subscribers on six continents, defying industry attitudes towards short content by building a successful enterprise distributing and marketing short films. Alexander made an appearance on nationally syndicated radio to announce a partnership with Babylon 5 actor and Talk Radio Network radio host Jerry Doyle to send DVDs to U.S. troops serving overseas. As owner of Dark Matter Films, Inc. he created the Rod Serling LEGACY Grant to help fund visionary independent filmmakers who carry on the tradition of storytelling excellence established by the grant's namesake.
Most recently, Mr. Vickers has launched FaithFocus, a faith-based distribution company that will use the same model as DARK MATTER to bring unseen independently produced content to mainstream audiences.
